Frankenstein

Inspired by Mary Shelley’s iconic novel, “Frankenstein” is a sweet story about
Olivia Frankenstein, a curious little girl who loves to dance and whose daily life
is interrupted by an unexpected encounter.
Olivia comes face to face with her father’s latest creation, Dr Frankenstein, a
peculiar-looking being who, because of his uncommon appearance, is feared by
many, but not by her.

In an escape from a cruel, discriminating and tormenting world, being different
brings them closer together. Thus begins their beautiful friendship.
It is a show of lights, shadows, music, and silences, which invites children and
adults alike to experience magic, imagination, and sweet melancholy, through
the eyes of an unprejudiced and curious girl, and the noble heart of a tender,
strange, and naive creature.

Amikeco

Using one of the most singular tools in performing arts, puppets, Amikeco transports us to an enchanting and melancholic world and shows us the power of love and the value of earnest friendships.

The name Amikeco is derived from Esperanto, the most widely used international language created to harmonize the different peoples of the world. In this unique language, amikeco means friendship.

In the same way as Esperanto has aimed to create a common tongue, shared amongst all, Amikeco uses another universal language: music. Inherently borderless and unifying, music connects people regardless of time and space constraints.

In Amikeco, words are not spoken; Music takes the lead in conveying plot, character and emotion. Accompanied by the show’s original music, the protagonist must overcome obstacles and trust in friendship to find what he has been searching for a long time.

The king’s pawns

“Τα πιόνια του βασιλιά”
Cyprus 2020

The king of an imaginary country, after an accident, is forced to walk with crutches. But since he is the king and does whatever he pleases, he orders all his subjects to use crutches as well—by royal decree. As the years go by, people begin to forget how they used to walk before the decree. Yet, somewhere, memory still lingers… and is preparing for a rebellion.

The story of the play is an adaptation of the folk tale “The Crutches,” as recorded by Lily Lambrelli in her collection “Ten and One Tales of Wisdom for Times of Crisis and Other Hardships” (Patakis Publishing, 2014).
This show was created with the Cypriot story Teller Marina Katsaris
